Chapstick Jello

Okay, weird name, I know. However, I made this jello at Thanksgiving and my older sister said it had the consistency of chapstick. We all laughed, so hence the name. I don't think it really has that consistency, and I'll tell you that the kids LOVE it. What's even better is that it's ready in like an hour, no kidding. I hope you enjoy!

Recipe:
(3) 3 oz. pkgs. jello, any flavor
(3) 1/2 oz. pkgs. Knox unflavored gealatin
(3) cups boiling water
(1) cup or 1/2 pt. whipping cream (this is the kind that you pour out of a carton, not Cool Whip)

Boil your water. Stir in the knox gelatin and then the flavored jello, and stir well. Pour into a 9x13 sized pan. Add in whipping cream and stir well. Place in the fridge until set up. Cut into 1" cubes, and enjoy!

(My computer isn't reading my SD card, so I'll post pics as soon as I figure that out.)

New web site

Just took my left over Pork roast and made an amazing dinner, I did use the Pork twice but I did it to see if I could. I went to www.allreciepe.com and found a recipe for Sweet and Sour Pork. I followed it pretty well, I added a dash and I mean a small dash of Cheyenne pepper. Oh, baby it is good. I made some Pork fried rice and used my dehydrated peas and carrots.

1 pound pork butt, cut into 1 inch cubes (I used left over roast)
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon white sugar
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1 egg white
2 green onions, chopped
enough oil to coat the bottom of a fry pan
1/2 cup cornstarch

1 tablespoon vegetable oil
3 stalks celery, cut into 1/2 inch pieces
1 medium onion, cut into wedges
white sugar to taste
salt to taste

1 cup water
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup white sugar
1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup ketchup
1/2 teaspoon soy sauce
1 (8 ounce) can pineapple chunks, undrained (I used 2 tbspoon of Apricot jam instead of opening a can I would waste half of. )
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 cup water

DIRECTIONS
Place cubed pork in a medium bowl, and season with 1 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon sugar, and 1 teaspoon soy sauce. Mix in the egg white and green onions. Cover, and place in the refrigerator at least 1 hour.
Heat 1 quart oil to 365 degrees F (185 degrees C) in a large, heavy saucepan or deep fryer.
Coat the pork with 1/2 cup cornstarch, and fry in the heated oil about 10 minutes, until evenly browned. Drain on paper towels.
Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a wok over medium heat. Stir in the celery, green bell pepper, and onion, and cook until tender. Season with salt and sugar. Remove from heat, and set aside.
In a large saucepan, mix 1 cup water, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 3/4 cup sugar, apple cider vinegar, ketchup, and 1/2 teaspoon soy sauce. Bring to a boil, and stir in the cooked pork, celery mixture, and the pineapple chunks with juice. Return to boil, and mix in 2 tablespoons cornstarch and 1/4 cup water to thicken. Cook until well blended.
d carrots. Check it out the site and go for it.

What's for Dinner????

Day 1

We are going to cook for 3 meals any cooked meat will store up to 1 week in refrigerator or freeze for upto 1 month.Drop 4-5 or even 6-8 chicken breast into Crock pot. Salt and Pepper and if frozen add NO water. I added carrots celery and onion. Now my Pot pie is ready to assemble. I also used dehydrated because it is winter and fresh is expensive. I buy my dehydrated from the Prepardness store but I am looking for a better source.
Cook till completly done, no pink about 6-8 hours. You want them very tender.
When completly cooked I take a pair of kitchen scissors and chop into bit size pieces.

Now for meal 1. Pull out 1 1/2 cups of meat and veggies. I make a gravy and usually I have left over mashed potatoes from Sunday. Serve with some carrots sticks or apple slices and left over rolls from Sunday. (How easy)

Day 2

Make a Jello- your favorite, I dont have one.
Fry 2-3 lbs of ground beef. season with salt and pepper and maybe a bit of onion.
Tonight we are going to make a Shepards pie with a twist. Instead of using your potatoes or Tater tots, We are going to top with Pie crust. Make fresh or use Pillsbury. ( I am not good at crust so I use easy Pillsbury. Not the most on the budget though. )

Day 3
Let's go Italian (use some of that hamburger you cooked yesterday)
On this blog in recieps there is a excellant reciep for Homemade Spagetti sauce. Now all you have to do is boil the noodles and fix a roll or even a cheap Pillsbury Pizza crust. Roll out and butter and sprinkle with Garlic salt and slice into sticks.

Day 4
Tonight we are going to pull out Reserve Chicken.
We are going to make Biscust Wraps.
Add 1 beaten egg, 1 Tb water, 1 green onion chopped, this is more for color. 1/2 c celery. If your family dosent like celery substitute with apple. 1 tsp salt & pepper. 2 tsp Miracle Whip or for you die hearts Mayonnaise.

Stir well. Using Biscut dough, cut biscut in half horizontally, flatten and fill with filling. Top with top half and seal edges.
Bake at 350 for 17--18 minutes. Until golden brown.

Serve with left over Jello, or a fresh salad.

On Monday or Tuesday you should have baked a cake or maybe cookies for Dessert. But stay out of them during the day.

I have left day 5 open as it is usually Friday. I suggest you make homemade Pizza and let the kids help. Stay in and watch a movie and save enough money for next weeks groceries. use your ground beef on the Pizza or do a Ranch Chicken with left over chicken and sprinkle with dry Ranch dressing before topping with cheese.

Featured On Local News 8

If any of you are insomniacs like me, you may have just seen the coupon queen on Newsline, and a girl I went to high school with was also commented, Kimber Towers. Anyways, they said to go to the news' website to get her blog name. Well, I did the hard work for you and it is called
http://stretchingyouridahodollars.blogspot.com
I also put a few more on there, so check out our sidebar links.

Happy Saving! Oh, and get to Albertsons! The sale is AWESOME!!!

Good to know someone cares

Just returned from Albertson's on Broadway in Idaho Falls. Great Deals!!!!Bone in Hams- big ones. $!.49 a lb. Great for Easter. Not to mention all the buy 10 and get $10.00 back. I spent less that $100.00 and came home with twice what I would have bought at Walmart. This is my take.
I only went in with the idea to buy 10 items for food storage. Did that, then I found the great buys on the hams and some great Pork Roast. Albertsons even had the coupon form the newspaper. (We'll talk later about them.)
I purchased my 10, the checkout person made sure that I bought all the items that would get me $10.00 BEFORE I purchased any other item, as to be able to use my $10.00in rewards money. They have a couple of Custome Service people who walk the iles and if you look confused will stop and walk you through how the program works. He even showed me that if I like Betty Crocker Milk Chocolate frosting in the tubs instead of the plain Chocolate there is an EXTRA $.25 OFF coupon on the tub. Hows that for service? You wont find that at Walmart. Ok, I still stop at Walmart but really ladies give Albertsons a try while they have these great sales. BUT- It is at Broadway only, but worth the drive.

While I was there I met 3 very nice ladies trying to makd sence of this whole coupon thing. I shared with them this post and if any of them check us out stop by and say Hello, by clicking on commets.
